Last weekend the last of the Euro cups events took part in our home playspot Cunovo Slovakia.
Me and Nina we was organizing the whole event and also competing as well. Its little bit difficult to do both things well, but I hope we did a good job by organizing the event. I have been preparing the event for few months already.
Whole event started at friday with the official trainings and registration. At saturday we woke up at the morning and with the help of my friends we set up all the tents and prepared the spot for competition. We started with K1JW and C1 than K1JM, K1W and K1M. Once again we have been competing in our play spot. It means mostly that you have some advantage of most training time over there. We know already every centimeter of the hole, but sometime its mentally harder for the competitor. You are in stress that you have to win, because its your own hole where you kayak every day. This time it went well for us. In the quali Nina was second after Marian Lindgren from Sweden. I took the lead in qualification and also after the semifinal. Then when the day was behind us with awesome weather and lot of fun, we was able to close the office and go for some party. The party in Cunovo is every time of course the best! We meet all our best friends again and I think its very important! It makes much more fun to do something like this with support and help of your friends. Really everybody was so helpful that sometimes it felt like we don't have much to do!
In sunday we had the kayak cross event and the finals in freestyle. In kayak cross we did also the old bastard category so we had even more people involved. It was nice to watch the beat down of 4 kayakers racing the course and trying to touch very difficult gates. In freestyle Nina had a great first run with big score and won the event. On the second place with great ride was Nicola Beeby from UK and third Anne Huebner GER. In C1 the winner was Lukas Cervinka current European champion and in men class after second ride I took the lead, second was Tomasz Czaplicki from POL and third was Martin Koll from GER. That also means that Nina won the woman class in overall standing and I won the K1 men class.
