This year we went again for the biggest creek boating race of the year, adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship. Every year it's a great competition to be. Me and Nina had a pretty full freestyle session, so we didn't really train anything else. We were sitting in a creek boat only two times and only in the white water course. So we definitely didn't have any expectations for the finals. The week in Oetz was brilliant, we did kayak on the race course, bike down the hills and kayak some of the river sections, met all our good friends and had super good dinners with the adidas team!
At the first competition day was the quali for the semis and finals, which took place at the Wellerbrücke. My first run was quite OK, but still not really great. Kind of feeling slow on the second part (easy one) of the competition course. Second run wasn't better, so it pulled me out to place 48, which meant that I was out. It's a funny feeling for me, because in freestyle kayaking I am mostly in the top, but here I was just good :) Nina's run in the mandatory run was great, she didn't make any mistakes. However in the competition she made a lot of mistakes. So in the end she finished on place 11. Anyway, I love this event, it's really great and we were having lots of fun all the time!
